Michigan Implementation Network

Applying implementation research to improve sustainable outcomes for all students.

Description

The Michigan Implementation Network (MIN) is an initiative to develop a systematic framework for applying implementation research in order to:

  • Improve the fidelity of effective practices
  • Enhance the sustainability of implementation efforts
  • Scale-up successful programs and practices

Vision Statement

To ensure Michigan students receive the highest quality instruction, the vision is to create sustainable infrastructures to enhance existing network(s) for implementation of effective practices across all educational settings. An implementation network supports the necessary and sufficient conditions and resources to coordinate statewide capacity for local implementation fidelity of policy changes and effective practices.

Goals

  1. Scale-up of a well-established state initiative, Michigan's Integrated Behavior and Learning Support Initiative (MiBLSi) to develop schoolwide systems of support to improve student behavior and reading skills.
  2. Support the development of a state Response to Intervention (RtI) framework initially conceived through participation in the National RtI Summit.
  3. Ongoing development of a learning community, amongst Michigan Department of Education (MDE) funded initiatives, for the purpose of effective installation and implementation fidelity of quality evidenced-based interventions.
  4. Enhancing the development of Michigan’s Integrated Improvement Initiatives (MI3) through collaborative learning opportunities related to shared functions across projects; marketing and communication; project and fiscal management; implementation and scale-up strategies; effective structures for mentoring; training and coaching; and effective evaluation systems.
